BS Reporter
A standing committee of Parliament has said the authorities have failed to uphold the Supreme Court's directions for rescuing the Taj Mahal from the corrosive effects of air pollution.

The panel, chaired by ex-Union minister Ashwani Kumar of the Congress party, has recommended to the environment ministry that a comprehensive plan in this regard by the Archaelogical Survey of India (ASI) be strictly enforced, with monthly progress reports.

The panel on Science & Technology and Environment and Forests said it was "aghast" at the lack of progress.
