Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday gave a slogan 'will not give our Gujarat', on lines of the historical statement made by Maharani Laxmibai of Jhansi 'I will not give my Jhansi' against the British imperialism.

Speaking at Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra in parts of Kutch district, Modi came down heavily on the Congress and accused them of spreading lies and defaming Gujarat for a long time. He claimed that the Congress would be wiped out in the coming elections.

"I am often questioned for my silence on the constant lies but this silence is because I have immense faith in the people who will give a befitting reply to these elements," the chief minister said.

On the television advertisements of the Congress seeking change Gujarat, Modi stated that the Congress was involved in coal scam, 2G spectrum scam, CWG scam, corruption, dynasty politics and asked if Gujarat wanted to adopt the same from them for the state.

Modi declared that just like Maharani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, who was firm on not giving away her kingdom of Jhansi to Britishers during the freedom struggle, the people of Gujarat need to be determined to give away their Gujarat  -- 'Humara Gujarat Nahi Denge', he said.

Taking a jibe at Congress  president Sonia Gandhi once again, Modi said that her advisors need to advise her properly on development in Gujarat. He asked the people if they believed her when she said there is no development under current government.

"What we has done so far in the past decade is merely filling the ditches of 40 years of Congress rule. After December the march towards a developed Gujarat will commence," he added.
