The Andhra Pradesh (AP) government is set to execute two metro rail projects in three-and-a-half years in Visakhapatnam and VGTM (Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri) area of the state.
Chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, had held discussions with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) principal adviser E Sreedharan in this regard here on Monday. He has asked Sreedharan to prepare a feasibility report and to finish both the projects within three-and-a-half years.
Sreedharan, according to an official press release, has assured the chief minister that DMRC would support and assist the state government in every way possible.

The construction of the projects has been assigned to DMRC and Sreedharan has been appointed as adviser to the state government on the two projects.
The state government has also proposed a metro rail project for Tirupati. However, the press release stated, the Tirupati metro rail project would be taken up following the completion of Visakhapatnam and VGTM projects.
