The second phase of the computer-based Common Admission Test (CAT) 2009 concluded smoothly today with around 2,000 candidates appearing for the retest at 26 centres across the country.

Day one of the retest concluded smoothly on Saturday.

MBA aspirants appeared happy with the way the test was handled by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Prometric, the US company which provided the software for the test.

Avantika Garg, who took the test in Delhi, said: “The test was conducted smoothly and handled well by Prometric. This time, not only were there no technical glitches but the candidates ensured they kept us informed about everything well in advance. Initially, I was scheduled to take the test on November 29 but was informed about the delay only the night prior to my exam. This caused a lot of inconvenience and then the exam kept on getting delayed. I am glad I got a fair chance today.”

After experiencing technical glitches during the first phase of the test, the premier examination came under criticism from various quarters due to mismanagement.
