The Madras High Court today directed the department of telecom (DoT) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) not to proceed with the finalisation of the fourth cellular operator for four weeks even as the DoT decided to conduct the third round of bids for the fourth cellular operators berth as scheduled on Thursday.
The DoT, however, will not open the bids in the light of the stay order given by the Bombay High Court on Tuesday.
The government has decided to contest the stay order and would be filing its reply on Thursday.
