FinMin denies allegations against Pranab

The government on Monday sent a rebuttal to allegations made against Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee by India Against Corruption, saying these were rejected by the Supreme Court on the first day of hearing in 2006. The letter issued by finance minister's office said "India Against Corruption, that claims to represent the high standards of ethical behaviour, has thrown its professed moral ground to the winds by sending allegations against Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, without disclosing these were subject matter of a PIL before the Delhi High Court after it was withdrawn in the Supreme Court on April 21, 2006.
