Kumar replaces Shri DRS Chaudhary who attained superannuation on August 31

Senior IAS office G Mohan Kumar today took over the charge as the Secretary, Ministry of Steel succeeding DRS Chaudhary.
"G Mohan Kumar, IAS, today assumed charge as the Secretary, Ministry of Steel. Kumar replaces Shri DRS Chaudhary who attained superannuation on August 31," a statement from Ministry of Steel said.
Kumar, a 1979 batch Odisha cadre official was Special Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources before being appointed as Secretary, Steel.
The vacancy was created following retirement of DRS Chaudhary, a 1977 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, who had taken over as the Steel Secretary in April, 2012.
