With an aim to boost tourism in the country, Indian Railways is planning to organise a luxurious journey from Kolkata in the east to Mumbai in the west via Goa.
During the 11-day-tour, scheduled to start on January 2, 2009, tourists would be enthralled by the exotic locales of Goa and their extravaganza would entail with a visit to the entertaining world of bollywood.
The privileged tourists would be provided three nights and four days stay in a star hotel in Goa where they could enjoy food festival, watersports and rain dance among other entertainment activities.
The trip is being jointly promoted by Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), i-novatrip.Com and Goa Tourism.
Equipped with star category amenities and exotic cuisines, the air-conditioned train to be used for the expedition, has other facilities including a dedicated FM radio channel, a special medical unit along with doctors and nurses, and trained men and women attendants.
The package costs around Rs 35,000 per head and tourists from Orissa, who want to be a part of the journey, have been offered free tickets in AC three-tier from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata, IRCTC sources said.
