The local civic body, which is looking at ways to resolve the city’s water woes, feels that if the Corporators oppose 100 per cent zone-wise water cuts once-a-week, the situation will aggravate further.
The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has proposed to impose zone-wise 100 per cent water cut once in seven days, a move opposed by the Corporators. The matter will come up for discussion during a meeting of Group Leaders of various parties on Monday.
“If the Corporators continue to oppose 100 per cent zone-wise water cut once every week then the situation will become difficult in May or June. We are considering various possible solutions to save water. They must understand we are doing it for the benefit of Mumbaikars,” a MCGM official said.
