Close on the heels of the Cabinet secretariat asking the petroleum ministry to seek a fresh approval of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) for the Central India Refinery Project at Bina in Madhya Pradesh, the finance ministry has also cast doubts about the viability of the project which was cleared on November 21, 1995.
The finance ministry has said that there has been significant time overrun and the proposal should be once again processed by the Public Investment Board.
