Select edible oils move up, hike in freight rates

Traders said apart from pick up in demand from vanaspati units, rise in freight rates also influenced the prices.     
Cottonseed mill delivery oil prices went up by a whopping Rs 150 to close at Rs 6,150 a quintal while crude palm oil (ex-kandla) gained Rs 90 to Rs 5,220 a quintal on higher global advices.     

 

Soyabean degum Delhi and sesame mill delivery oils gained Rs 50 each to Rs 6,600 and Rs 6,750 a quintal respectively palmoline (rbd) oil lacked necessary buying support at higher level and lost Rs 50 to Rs 6,200 a quintal.     

Meanwhile, state-run MMTC Ltd has floated a tender to import 24,000 metric tons of refine, bleached and deodorised palmolein.
