Madhya Pradesh government has decided amend Daily-wage Employees Service Rules to award 'confirmed' status to daily wage employees. This is likely to benefit as many as 25,000 daily-wage employees.
"Those employees who were appointed as daily wage employees before 1988 will get benefit of this decision," Narottam Mishra, government spokesperson and cabinet minister said.
The state cabinet today also decided to award confirmed status to those daily-wage employees who have obtained a court stay order against orders of the state government.
"These daily-wage employees will be absorbed in their present position or equivalent position," he said.
In another decision, the state cabinet today cleared amendments to jobs offered on compensation basis. "Now, married daughters, adopted son and daughters of the employees will be considered for jobs against compensation," Mishra further said.

"The ex-gratia amount has also been raised from Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 2.00 lakh," he added.
To ensure better management in government-owned hospitals, state cabinet also cleared a new system to recruit hospital managers. "These managers may be doctors or from some other stream," the minister said.
"The new post will fall under manager category and 109 such posts have been created," he said. As many as 17 new colleges will come up in the state, the minister informed further.
