The Karnataka High Court today further extended till May 27 its stay on the Justice Padmaraj Commission set up to probe the alleged land scams in the state since 1995.

A division bench, comprising chief justice J S Khehar and A S Bopanna, extended the stay on the petition filed by JD-S spokesperson Y S V Dutta, praying that anti-corruption watchdog Lokayukta continue its probe into the scams.

In his plea, which was heard on February 11, the petitioner had submitted that the Commission had no jurisdiction to investigate the complaints that were already before the Lokayukta. The court had then stayed the Commission till March 18.
