Tamil Nadu govt reduces power cut for HT units

Decision was taken at a review meeting, chaired by TN CM Jayalalithaa

The Tamil Nadu government has decided to reduce the duration of power cuts in high tension industrial units and commercial establishments other than peak hours from 40% to 20% from tomorrow.
 
The decision was taken at a review meeting, which was chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, at Chennai today.
 
In a statement the Government said that it was decided to allow domestic consumers to use power not more than 10% of their total consumption in the peak hours between 6 PM and 10 PM.

The state administration has said that power situation in the state has been improving in the State following the recent rainfall and progress in various and commissiong of the power projects, including 600 MW Mettur project, 1000 MW Vallur project and 1200 MW North Thermal Project in the state.
