Vizag Steel Plant Sets Higher Export Target

Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) is exploring new overseas markets for greater export pie in the total sales volume to 17-19 per cent from the 12 per cent recorded in 2002-03.

The steel plant is targeting a turnover of Rs 5,200 crore for the current fiscal, including an export volume of Rs 900-1,000 crore.

In 2002-03, VSP exports were at Rs 626 crore, accounted for 12 per cent of the total sales as against the exports of Rs 390 crore which was a nine per cent of the sales in the previous year.
