CM asks officials to stick to metro deadline

Chief minister K Rosaiah on Monday asked officials to ensure that the Hyderabad metro rail project meets the deadline.

The financial bids is to be submitted in April and the new concessionaire is expected to be in place by May this year. Ground works would be launched in November. The metro rail would be available for public travel in four years and the full project is expected to be completed in five years, the officials said.

The chief minister today reviewed metro and other urban projects with municipal administration and urban development minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, principal secretary TS Appa Rao and metro rail's managing director NVS Reddy.
