The All India Civil Services sports events in Basketball, Powerlifting, Weightlifting and Best Physique were organized by the Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board (CCSCSB), in New Delhi from November 10, 2014 to November 14, 2014. These events were organized as part of a series of programmes organized on completion of 50 years of the Board. A total of 19 teams from various State Governments and Regional Sports Boards (RSB) participated in Basketball, whereas 16 teams participated in Weightlifting, Power lifting and Best Physique. All these events were held at CCSCSB Sports Complex, Vinay Marg, New Delhi.
The Tournaments were inaugurated by Shri Ajit M. Sharan, Secretary, Department of Sports, Government of India on November 10, 2014. Shri Sanjay Kothari, Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India has attended the Prize Distribution and Closing Ceremony held today.
Teams of RSB Cochin, RSB Chennai and CCSCSB secured first, second and third position respectively, in the AICS Basketball Tournament.
The CCSCSB was set up on 21.04.1964 as a registered Society for promotion of Cultural and Sports activities amongst the Central Government Employees in the country and works under the aegis and control of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India. For the last fifty years, the CCSCSB has been fostering sportsmanship amongst the Central Government Employees and providing them opportunities to participate in the field of sports and recreation.
