The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the scheme today on Video Conference with selected districts and took first hand feedback of the scheme progress in these districts. After review he stated that the scheme had achieved good progress in the first week of its operation.
In this first week of its operation of DBTL in 54 districts across 11 states the scheme progress is given below:
o An amount of Rs. 103 crore has been disbursed in LPG subsidy/advance so far.
o Over 5.3 lakh households have joined the new scheme successfully.
o 20 lakh transactions have been done during the week and
o 1.7 crore consumers (73%) are now on market price, which constitute10% of entire LPG consumer population.
The modified Direct Benefit transfer of LPG (DBTL) scheme was re-launched in 54 districts on 15.11.2014 in the 1st Phase and will be launched in the rest of the country on 1.1.2015.
