Cardamom futures prices fell by Rs 11.50 to Rs 876.50 per kg today on speculators booking profits at existing high levels.
Fresh arrivals in the spot market from producing belts also put pressure on cardamom futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August delivery fell by Rs 11.50, or 1.29%, to Rs 876.50 per kg, with a business turnover of eight lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June eased by Rs 11.20, or 1.32%, at Rs 835 per kg, with a business turnover of 38 lots, while July contract moved down by Rs 9.80, or 0.79%, to Rs 867 per kg, with a trade volume of 20 lots.
Analysts said fall in demand at existing high levels against fresh arrivals in the physical market mainly led to a fall in cardamom futures prices.
