Chana remained weak for the second straight day and prices fell further by 1.13% to Rs 3,337 per quintal in futures trading on continued profit-bookings by speculators amid subdued spot demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in April fell by Rs 38, or 1.13%, to Rs 3,337 per quintal with an open interest of 90,190 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in May traded lower by Rs 37, or 1.08%, to Rs 3,381 per quintal in 37,220 lots.
Market analysts said continued profit-booking by speculators at prevailing levels and subdued demand in the spot market weighed on chana prices at futures trade.
