CIL board to meet today

Amid a severe coal crunch hurting investments lined up in the key infrastructure sectors, the board of state-owned miner Coal India Ltd (CIL) would meet for the second time on Tuesday to take a final call on how to sign Fuel Supply Agreements with power companies. The first meeting of the board, last Thursday remained inconclusive.

“We are hopeful of arriving at a consensus in tomorrow’s meeting,” said a senior executive from the company.
