Crude oil down 0.3% on weak Asian cues

Crude oil futures today fell by Rs 22, or 0.34%, to Rs 6,496 per barrel as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in the Asian trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October fell by Rs 22, or 0.34%, to Rs 6,496 per barrel in 83 lots.
Similarly, the oil for September delivery moved down by Rs 14, or 0.21%, to Rs 6,537 per barrel in 1,222 lots.
The trading sentiment weakened at futures trade after crude oil prices declined in Asian trade ahead of a US crude inventory report, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude prices for delivery in September was down 24 cents to USD 106.59 a barrel in mid-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
