Jeera prices fell by 0.82% to Rs 15,735 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their position, driven by adequate stocks following supply pressure.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July declined by Rs 130, or 0.82% to Rs 15,735 per quintal, with an open interest of 18,699 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June fell by Rs 120, or 0.78%, to Rs 15,260 per quintal, with a business volume of 17,031 lots.
Analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators triggered by increased arrivals and subdued overseas demand led to the fall in jeera futures prices.
