KEC Int'l gains on Rs 568-crore new orders

The stock was up 7% at Rs 39 on the National Stock Exchange.

KEC International is trading higher by 7% to Rs 39 after infrastructure firm said it has won new orders worth Rs 568 crore in its transmission and cable businesses in India and abroad.

"In transmission business, the company has secured orders in India, Bangladesh and Americas amounting to Rs 493 crore,” KEC International said in a BSE filing.

About the cable business, the company said: "In this business, the company has secured orders for the supply of power and telecom cables. The total value of orders is Rs 75 crore.”

The stock opened at Rs 38.05 and touched high of Rs 40.60 so far on NSE. A combined 356,606 shares have changed hands on the counter so far on the NSE and BSE.
