Markets extends gains; Sensex up 2%

The BSE Sensex is now at 15,147, up 303 points. The NSE Nifty has zoomed 95 points to 4,493.

The NSE Nifty today opened at 4,409 and zoomed to a high of 4,491. The index is now at 4,470, up 71 points.

Hindalco has advanced 5% to Rs 90. Sterlite and Reliance Infrastructures have added 4% each at Rs 626 and Rs 1,134, respectively.

HCL Tech, DLF, Tata Steel and IDEA have gained over 3.5% each at Rs 225, Rs 359, Rs 414 and Rs 77, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications, Suzlon and Unitech are up 3% each.

 

Sun Pharma is the only loser so far, down 4.5% at Rs 1,201.

Meanwhile the BSE Sensex is at 15,077, up 234 points.
