Mentha oil prices rose 0.50% to Rs 864.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in creating positions amid firm domestic as well as export demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for November rose by Rs 5.20, or 0.60%, to Rs 864.50 per kg, with a business volume of 42 lots.
The oil for October delivery rose by Rs 4.40 or 0.51%, to Rs 851 per kg, with a trading volume of 279 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in mentha oil at futures trade to pick-up in overseas and domestic demand at spot markets amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
