Pepper prices fell by Rs 115 to Rs 30,470 per quintal in futures trade today after speculators reduced positions, however, export demand restricted losses.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in June fell by Rs 115, or 0.38% to Rs 30,470 per quintal, with a trade volume of 15,685 lots.
The July contract lost Rs 28, or 0.09% to Rs 30,400, with a business volume of 1,957 lots.
Analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators mainly weighed on the pepper futures prices but some export demand capped the losses.
