The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has directed the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to probe complaints against alleged money-raising by Sahara Q Shop Unique Products Range Limited.
The court has given the regulator three months to take a decision.
Q Shop is a retail venture launched by the Sahara Group around the time its real estate companies ran into rough weather with Sebi.
The order dated February 11 came on a plea by Indian Police Service officer Amitabh Thakur and his wife and social activist Nutan.
