Markets ended lower on Wednesday as investors booked profit in financial shares after recent gains

Markets ended near their day's lows after investors booked profits in financial shares and index heavyweight Reliance Industries after recent gains.

The 30-share Sensex ended down 86 points at 20,889 and the 50-share Nifty ended down 35 points at 6,218.
