Sensex down 398pts; Bharti, ICICI Bank weigh

The Sensex is now down 398 points at 10,285.

Tata Steel and Sterlite have slumped around 8.5% each to Rs 254 and Rs 270, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank have tumbled nearly 7.5% each to Rs 670 and Rs 400, respectively. Reliance Communications has plunged 7% to Rs 240.

Mahindra & Mahindra and SBI have shed around 6% each at Rs 384 and Rs 1,404, respectively.

ACC and Reliance have dropped over 5% each to Rs 461 and Rs 1,327, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Hindalco, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped around 5% each

ITC has advanced over 2% to Rs 173.

 

Out of 2,508 stocks traded so far, 1,676 have declined, 757 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
