Sensex recovers partially; ITC, Hindalco down 2%

The NSE Nifty is down 18 points at 4,139.

ICICI Bank has plunged 3.4% to Rs 601. Jaiprakash Associates and Maruti have tumbled 3% each to Rs 168 and Rs 571.

ITC and Hindalco have shed 2.3% each at Rs 179 and Rs 142, respectively.

TCS has dropped 2% to Rs 858. Satyam and Reliance Infrastructure have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 475 and Rs 823, respectively.

Infosys, Bharti and Tata Motors have declined over 1% each to Rs 1,799, Rs 739 and Rs 400, respectively.

Reliance and NTPC are down 1% each at Rs 2,059 and Rs 167, respectively.

 

ACC has surged 3.6% to Rs 555, and Ambuja Cements has rallied over 3% to Rs 80.

Tata Steel has gained over 2% at Rs 693. HDFC and DLF are up around 1.5% each at Rs 2,123 and Rs 457, respectively.

Out of 2,474 stocks traded so far, 1,272 have declined, 1,127 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
