Sensex volatile in early trades; Tata Steel gains 3%

The Sensex opened 34 points higher at 10,037, and touched a high of 10,041 in opening trades. However, the index soon slipped into the negative zone and dropped to a low of 9,914.
The index has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 56 points at 10,059.
Tata Steel has soared nearly 3% to Rs 211.
Ranbaxy, Hindalco and SBI have surged around 2.5% each to Rs 162, Rs 54 and Rs 1,119, respectively.
Reliance Communications, Larsen & Toubro and ICICI Bank have rallied around 2% each to Rs 172, Rs 675 and Rs 382, respectively.
TCS has shed 2.5% at Rs 544. HDFC, Maruti and Infosys have slipped around 2% each to Rs 1,620, Rs 756 and Rs 1,355, respectively.
