Silver above 30K level in futures trade on global cues

Silver futures today rose by Rs 93 to Rs 30,253 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange on buying by speculators amid firming global trend.

Silver for September month rose by Rs 93, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 30,253 per kg with an interest of 19,725 lots.

The metal for delivery in December month moved up by Rs 89, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 30,321 per kg in 13,224 lots.

Marketmen said fresh buying by speculators, supported by firming global trend mainly pushed up silver prices at futures market.

Meanwhile, silver traded higher by 0.32 per cent to $18.99 an ounce in Asian region.
