Truck Freight Between Metros Softens

Owing to lack of demand for trucks and poor cargo loading, truck hire charges have dropped three -four per cent, according to a study by the Indian Foundation of Transport Research and Training (IFTRT).

A Delhi-Mumbai trip is Rs 300 cheaper at Rs 11,950 while Delhi-Kolkata trip costs Rs 11,500, a decrease of Rs 250 compared to last month. Delhi-Hyderabad trip on a 16.2 tonne truck is Rs 400 cheaper at Rs 13,000, Delhi-Bangalore trip costs Rs 20,100 as against Rs 20,400 previously. Delhi-Chennai trip would cost Rs 24,500, at least Rs 500 cheaper than previous month hire charges.
