Marketmen said weakness in base metals overseas, led to a fall in zinc prices at futures trade

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend overseas, zinc futures prices today edged lower by 0.62% to Rs 128.90 per kg.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January shed 80 paise, or 0.62%, to Rs 128.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 214 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in current month traded lower by 50 paise, or 0.38%, to Rs 129.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 56 lots.

Marketmen said apart from profit-booking by participants in view of ending monthly settlement, weakness in base metals overseas, led to a fall in zinc prices at futures trade.
