12 civilians reported killed in Assam terror attack

At least 12 civilians have been reported killed in Kokrajhar, Assam, by militants who were engaged in a fierce gunbattle with security forces.

The gunbattle ensued when the armed extremists opened fired at a market around 12 kms from Kokhrajar.

Reports said the attackers had lobbed a grenade in a crowded market place.

One of the attackers is also said to have been gunned down.
