25 dead, 15 injured in Patna stampede

At least 25 persons were killed and 15 others got injured following a stampede at Patna's Gandhi Maidan on Friday.

Patna district magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, who confirmed the casualties, said that the stampede occurred at the gate of the Gandhi Maidan.

He added that the doctors are attending to those injured and all precautions are being taken.

The stampede took place when people were returning from the Dussehra celebrations.

The number of casualties is expected to rise. The injured have been admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
