A Delhi Court on Wednesday granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Dinesh Mohaniya, who was arrested on molestation charges, on the condition that he shall not tamper with evidence and not hamper the investigation in the matter.

The court while pronouncing its order noted that Mohaniya has his roots in the society.

"Perusal of the record shows that the investigation is almost complete in the case. It is a fact that the applicant/accused is the member of the Legislative Assembly and has his roots in the society," the court said in its order.

"Since the investigation is almost complete and the fact that the accused is in the judicial custody since 25.06.2016, therefore, no purpose would be served by keeping him in the judicial custody anymore," the court said.

The court further asked Mohaniya to join the investigation as and when required by the concerned Investigating Officer.
