Akmal's father has reportedly submitted a written unconditional apology with the DIG Zulfiqar Hameed on behalf of his son's disorderly behavior.

According to Dawn News, Akmal's father met the senior-ranking police official in person and informed him that Akmal could not appear before him as he was representing Pakistan in the Asia Cup in Bangladesh.

The Lahore police have reportedly accepted the apology, assuring that the case against Akmal, who was briefly detained by police on 1 st February for entering into a fray with a traffic warden following a traffic violation, would be taken back.

A case was also registered against Akmal for allegedly slapping the sergeant and later he was granted bail by a local sessions court and released against a surety bond of one lakh rupees, the report added.
