A new study has revealed that almost half of flirty men and women are up for having an open relationship.

The research, conducted by a global social network for meeting new people, Twoo, found that 33 percent of men and women believe jealousy in a relationship is a healthy trait to have, the Daily Star reported.

The survey of 2,000 UK members of the site showed that 48 percent of men and 30 percent of women admitted that they would consider having an open relationship where they could see other people.

It found that 32 percent of guys and 36 percent of girls felt they wouldn't need to sleep with someone to consider marriage and 85 percent of the respondents stated that intelligence is important when it comes to attractive traits that people look for.

Joost Roelandts, COO of Twoo, said that their research highlights how attitudes towards dating and relationships are shifting, adding that it seems like Brits are no longer afraid of open relationships.

Roelandts added that their stats also show that about two thirds of people in the UK would need to sleep with someone before considering marriage, showing the importance of sex in a modern relationship.
