The state government run transport services in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained stalled on Monday after the strike by the employees of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) entered its sixth day.

The striking employees decided to continue the strike after their talks with the two state Governments remained inconclusive last evening.

According to reports, the APSRTC employees are on strike demanding a 43 percent hike in the pay while the state is willing to give 27 percent hike. The employees are continuing their strike despite the directions from the Hyderabad High Court and repeated requests from the two Governments.

Meanwhile, the commuters were badly affected in the two states due to the strike even as the corporation operated a few services with contractual employees. Unusual rush was seen at the railway stations in Hyderabad and Secunderabad as around 20 thousand buses remained off the roads due to strike.

The APSRTC is yet to be bifurcated after the Andhra Pradesh state reorganisation took place last year.
