If sources are to be believed, then Ariana Grande's beau Pete Davidson was "on a break" with his former lover when he started dating the American singer.

Insiders said that Pete and his ex-girlfriend, Cazzie David, were "on a break" in early May, reported TMZ.

However, later, Pete called it off with Cazzie as he was serious about the 24-year-old 'Bang Bang' hit-maker.

It's been more than a week for the couple after their engagement news went public, however, the details about the proposal still remain top-secret.

The news of the duo dating came just a few days after Ariana announced her split from her two-year boyfriend, Mac Miller.
