Assembly polls: 75% voter turnout in Nagaland, 67% in Meghalaya

Around 75 percent of voter turnout was recorded in Nagaland assembly polls and 65 percent polling has been recorded in Meghalaya till 4 pm.

Voting in both the north eastern states is still underway and the percentage is expected to rise.

People of Nagaland and Meghalaya are both voting to choose their representative for 59 out of 60 seats.

In the last assembly elections, 89 percent voter turnout was registered in Meghalaya while the polling percentage was over 90 percent in Nagaland.

The polling is being smoothly conducted smoothly in both the states, barring some sporadic incidents as of now.

The counting of the votes will take place on March 3.
