New Delhi, Apr 15 (ANI): Delhi-based startup, Big Fish Ventures, which runs premium dining lounges such as Vault Cafe and GaramDharam in the national capital, is planning to launch over 40 outlets across India and overseas over the next two years.
Some of the upcoming cafe's by the company are OMG - Oh My God and Three Pegs Down apart from Garam Dharam in Murthal.
Riding high on the success of his previous ventures, hospitality sector veteran Umang Tewari is all set to invest a total of Rs. 72 crore out of which, he will invest 20 crore in five new outlets in Delhi, 12 crore for two new outlets in Mumbai and 25 crore for two outlets in Dubai.
In an exclusive interview to ANI, Umang Tewari, Chairman Big Fish Ventures, said, "We are expanding towards Mumbai, Chandigarh and Dubai. Our aim is to expand Dharamendra inspired concept cafe Garam Dharam, Vault and Junkyard in Chandigarh and Mumbai, for which places have been already finalized. In Dubai we are coming up with Junkyard Cafe again."

Elaborating on the competition in the hospitality industry, Umang said, "Competition gets more advantages. Maintaining a stand-alone property is a task in itself. In the food business what people care about is only ambience and food. One must cater to all food palettes."
Earlier this year, the company launched its app to cater a base of 60,000 customers. It also initiated loyalty program, which enables a consumer to gain 5000 points on every download and subsequently on every billing and redeem them with exciting discounts, offers and deals exclusive to the app.
Setting a trend for large multi format restaurant chains by developing their own apps, Big Fish Ventures' has set the standards high. It has eventually given tough competition to the specialized dining and reservation app operators like Zomato, Dineout, Easydiner and Reserve your table.
"I came up with the idea to launch my own app to gain maximum customer loyalty. We are adding a wallet by Paytm to offer customers extra points, cash-backs and discounts to gain their loyalty. The customer will also be able to make table reservations at our restaurants and cafe, said Tiwari commenting on the idea of channelizing an app.
The app will be available on Google play store and Apple Store and will provide regular update to its customers about promotional activities and events at the outlets operated by Big Fish Ventures.
The company aims to create, build and operate over 40 outlets by FY 17-18 under brands created by them. Big Fish plans to invest over USD 30 million in building and operating outlets and will clock gross sales of over USD 100 mn by FY 18-19.
Big Fish will clock sales of over USD 10 mn in FY 15-16 and over USD 30 mn in FY 16-17. The company currently employs over 500 people across restaurants and logistics and back-end space and will be employing over 1200 employees by March 2017.
