Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs' infamous battle of sexes tale is set to get a screen makeover.
HBO and Playtone have cast Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti in the titular roles for the film, which is being penned by set playwright and 'Proof' scribe David Auburn, Deadline.com reported.
King, 29 at the time and ranked No. 2-ranked female star, had beat the 55-year-old retired former Wimbledon champ in the 1973 Battle of the Sexes tennis match.
The film will be exec produced by Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, along with Banks and her Brownstone Productions partner Max Handelman.
