Senior advocate Ram Jethmalani and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) have jointly moved an application to end the suit pending in Delhi's Patiala House court.

Jethmalani was expelled from the BJP in 2013 following which the senior advocate challenged the party's decision and sought damages of Rs 50 lakh.

BJP president Amit Shah and general secretary Bhupinder Yadav met Jethmalani and expressed their sincere regret for his expulsion from the party, according to a letter written by the BJP general secretary which has come in public domain.

BJP has expressed their acknowledgment of Jethmalani's tireless work towards the growth of the party and his position as founding Vice President.

The two sides jointly filed an application to withdraw the suit seeking damages and compensation.

BJP had expelled him from the primary membership of the party over the breach of discipline.
