Brewery develops new beer dedicated to slain cop

A Massachusetts brewing company is creating a beer in the honour of a hero cop, Sean Collier, who was allegedly gunned down by the Boston Marathon bombers.

According to the Cambridge Brewing Company, 'Collier Stout' -a dry Irish stout- will hit bars by mid June and 1 dollar from every sale will go to Collier's memorial fund, the New York Post reported.

Collier's friend Travis Dixon told the Boston Globe that he thinks that the late cop would be beside himself if he knew a beer was being named after him.

Collier, 26, of Somerville, Mass., was shot dead after he responded to a disturbance near the MIT campus in Cambridge on April 18, just three days after the Boston Marathon bombings.

"The memorial service at MIT was the dream send-off that he would have wanted. Now having a beer named after him - it's so fitting," Tim Croke, who was Collier's roommate said.
