ANI Moga (Punjab)

Residents of Moga in Punjab held a candle light protest against the ruling Parkash Singh Badal government after a 13-year-old girl was killed when she was thrown off a moving bus.

The girl in question was molested before being thrown out of the speeding vehicle. Her mother too was severely injured in the incident.

Protestors raised slogans against Badal and the state police, with many alleging that the state government was trying to shield the culprits.

Meanwhile, several women took out a protest march in Ludhiana against the incident.

The Congress earlier in the day staged protest against the state government over the incident and demanded that a case be filed against Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also staged a protest in front of a police station in Moga.
