World No.2 Novak Djokovic has joined Swiss ace Roger Federer in round three of the Sony Open after defeating Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in the second round of the Miami tournament.
In the men's event, Federer is looking to regain the title he won in 2005 and 2006 after missing last year's tournament with a back injury following his 6-4 7-6 (7-4) victory over towering Croat Ivo Karlovic.
According to the BBC, however, Djokovic, who beat Chardy 6-4 6-3, was held up before serving for the match when Chardy hobbled to a courtside entry tunnel with an ankle problem and took a medical timeout.
Meanwhile, defending champion Andy Murray plays Matthew Ebden later on Friday, with Venus Williams also in action, the report added.
