Eight killed, five injured in Andhra road mishap

At least eight persons were killed on Saturday and five were injured when a vehicle carrying the victims hit a truck coming from the opposite direction in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore District.

Police said the mishap took place this morning when the driver of the SUV in which the victims were proceeding to participate in a religious event in Nellore, lost control and hit the truck head-on.

Six persons died on the spot and two others succumbed in the hospital.
